Bring home the unique architecture along the canals of Amsterdam with this two-color linocut print. Great for framing, or as a gift to your favorite traveler.
Amsterdam is known, among other things, for the famously narrow houses that line its canals. In the 16th century, Dutch citizens were taxed according to the width of their houses. Predictably, the Dutch built their houses deeper and narrower to minimize the tax. Each house was built to be unique, with personalized ornamentation and decorative carvings on the “neck” of the house.
Original Linocuts are hand carved and hand-printed on Strathmore acid-free heavyweight paper.
