Take a trip to Santorini without leaving your bedroom with this one-of-a-kind linocut inspired by Greek Cycladic architecture. Buy it as a gift, or keep it for yourself!
On the Cycladic islands off the coast of Greece, houses were painted white to reflect the sun, making them more heat-resistant. The whitewashing mixture was affordable and easy to come by, as was the blue used for rooftops. Soon, the blue and white combination became a trend, and by the 1930’s, regulations were passed that required all new houses to be painted blue and white to promote a homogenous look.
Original Linocuts are hand carved and hand-printed on Strathmore acid-free heavyweight paper.
