The Grand Canal in Venice is famous for its many examples of Venetian Gothic architecture. This style originated in the 14th century in Venice, and combines both Byzantine and Moorish architectural influences with the traditional Gothic lancet arch to produce a unique look. Well-known examples of the Venetian Gothic style include the Doge’s Palace and Ca’ d’Oro.
